Good news for all the Rajkummar Rao fans out there as the actor will be seen playing the role of freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in a web series directed by Ekta Kapoor. Interestingly, it was Ekta who gave Rao a break in Love, Sex Aur Dhoka and then again roped him in Ragini MMS.

The actor spoke to Mumbai Mirror and said:
“Though I’m currently busy with the shoot of my film Behen Hogi Teri in Lucknow, I’ve already started reading books on Netaji and poring over content available on the net. Our writers have also done a lot of research so there’s a lot of source material there as well. Once I complete this film I’m going to give my blood and soul to get under the skin of Bose.”
Amid the media speculations a lot many details about the project has been revealed. The actor will start shooting for the project next year. Apparently, the web series will deal with the life of the freedom fighter from the age of 14-48 years.
Another factor that intrigued Raj Kumar to give a nod to the project was the legendary tales of the freedom fighter. Netaji’s famous dialogue “Tum mujhe khoon do main tumhe azaadi doonga” interested the actor a lot. He said that while he was studying in school, he was fascinated by Netaji’s statue that he would pass everyday on his way to school. He felt that despite the fact that we know a lot about Subhash Chandra Bose, there are still some unknown aspects of his journey that the world needs to know.
“I would pass the statue every day on my way to school and mull over that line. The fascinating part is that we have read so much about him but we still don’t know much about his life. Most of us are unaware of his journey.”
He said that the day he was approached for the role, he had no reasons to let it go as Bose is one of the most prominent freedom fighters in our country.

The actor has given spectacular hits in the past in the form of Shahid, Aligarh and Kai Po Che.
