Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan will share the screen space for the first time in Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Thugs of Hindostan. The film was supposed to go on floors on summer but the Yash Raj Films venture has hit a fresh crisis.
The reason is that the makers have not been able to finalise the leading lady for the film. Alia Bhatt, Vani Kapoor and even Aamir’s Dangal c0-actor Fatima Sana Sheikh have been approached by the directors but things have not fallen into place. According to an actor who had gone through the script, said that the leading lady’s role is a bit sketchy and she has very little to do.
Adding further, the actor told DNA that Hrithik Roshan had been approached for the film as well. He had pointed out the same issue which was agreed by the makers. However, Hrithik was later replaced by Aamir. With both Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan having already agreed to do the film, the absence of a female lead is proving to be a major hurdle.
Amitabh Bachchan is currently busy with the promotions of Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 3, wherein he will reprise the role of godfather Subhash Nagre in the third instalment of the political thriller trilogy. Also starring in the film are Manoj Bajpayee, Jackie Shroff, Ronit Roy and Yami Gautam.
On the other hand, Aamir Khan will be seen in Secret Superstar, which will be released in Diwali this year.
