Priyanka Chopra wants to essay a superhero role and has said that Batgirl would be cool to play. While talking to OK! Magazine, the Baywatch star said, ‘My dream part is, now that I’m working in America, I definitely want to do a superhero part. When I think of American movies, they’ve had superheroes for eons right? So I definitely want to play a superhero and I want to have an interesting superpower. I don’t know… Batgirl would be so cool.’
A new Batgirl film was announced earlier this year and it will be written and directed by Joss Whedon. The hunt for the lead actress is still on and Priyanka, 34, seems to have thrown her name into the ring.
Batgirl has appeared twice on screen in recent years; Alicia Silverstone played a version of her (called Barbara Wilson) in Batman & Robin, and Rosario Dawson voiced Barbara Gordon/Batgirl in the recent Lego Batman Movie.
Priyanka Chopra Hollywood debut Baywatch was released on 25 May worldwide and June 2 in India. Apart from her, Baywatch boasted of an ensemble cast including Dwayne Johnson, Zac Effron and Alexandra Daddario. Based on the popular TV series, Baywatch had Priyanka Chopra in the role of an antagonist Victoria Leeds.
However, PeeCee’s Baywatch has failed to leave a mark at the Box Office in India, that hit silver screens on June 2. Baywatch did not find any takers at the ticket counters.
