SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion has taken Box Office by storm. The movie is minting a lot of money and running to house full theatres. Now that the movie has redefined the course of Indian cinema, it is director Rajamouli who is basking in its success. But, have you wondered how much the filmmaker earned from this movie? Well, a lot.
If reports are to be believed, Rajamouli did not charge any fee but settled on a profit-sharing basis. Reportedly, he asked for one-third in the profits that have been made by both the films.
This means that Rajamouli would get a share from the profit of both movies. But, the first movie- Baahubali: The Beginning, did not rake in any profit. Though, Baahubali: The Beginning earned around Rs 600 crore, it did not register any profit. The budget of both the movies was around Rs 450 crore, with Rs 250 crore spent on Baahubali: The Conclusion. To put it simply, whatever the makers earned from the first instalment they invested in the second one.
But with the second one roaring at the Box Office, the makers don’t have any other investment as of now. Baahubali: The Conclusion was made on a budget of Rs 250 crore and it would be fair to consider that the movie has earned Rs 500 crore from the worldwide collections.
Now, the theatrical rights of the movie were reportedly sold for Rs 500 crore and the satellite rights fetched Rs 51 crore to the makers. Adding this, the amount the result comes as Rs 551 crore.

If we subtract the collections from the budget, the number comes to Rs 250 crore.
Adding Rs 551 crore and Rs 250 crore, the amount is Rs 801 crore. Let’s assume the profit was Rs 800 crore. Now one-third of this collection is Rs 266 crore.
So, SS Rajamouli apparently made Rs 266 crore from this franchise. Woah! That is really a lot of money.
