The nomination list for the 2017 IIFA Awards is finally out, and it is quite shocking. Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar have not been included in the list for the award show that will be held in New York on July 14. Karan Johar’s 2016 directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil leads the nomination chart in four categories.
It is indeed surprising as Akshay received the National Award for his role of a navy officer in Rustom this year. On the other hand, Aamir Khan’s Dangal has been doing extremely well in India and abroad. The 51-year-old actor had won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor whereas Nitesh Tiwari had bagged the Best Director award for the wrestling biopic. On the other hand, Aamir’s peer Shah Rukh Khan has been nominated for Best Actor and Best Actor in Negative Role category for Fan.
Among the actresses, Alia Bhatt has been nominated for Dear Zindagi and Udta Punjab. Anushka Sharma (ADHM), Sonam Kapoor (Neerja) and Taapsee Pannu (Pink) are other contenders in fray. Here’s the full nomination list.
