The wedding ceremonies of Neil Nitin Mukesh and Rukmini Sahay have commenced on a high note. Close friends and family of the couple have arrived in the Lake City, Udaipur to bless the couple. On arrival, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Nitin Mukesh, Nishi Mukesh, Naman Mathur and Neha Swarup shook a leg to the tunes of a classical flute. The venue – Radisson Blu has been all decked up for the event.
On Monday night, the celebrations began and Neil also sang Kabira for the guests. The video from the function trended on social media yesterday. While Neil and Rukmini will exchange vows on 9 February, the pre-wedding functions are going on in absolute fervor.
And then the engagement happened yesterday. The decor was dominated by an English vintage garden theme which was overlooked by Neil’s mother. Right from the ethereal tree of life that branched out into an embedded carnation canopy consisting of 2 lac flowers symbolizing the birth of a new association to open air tents decorated with silk drapes.
The legacy of singer Mukesh stood out regally at the entrance with a welcome note that had verses from Hum Tum Yug Yug Se. In was Neil’s father Nitin crooning Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai that added flavor to the night.
Speaking about how the wedding is taking place, Neil said:
It is brilliant to see the family getting together. I’d like to call the big fat family get together rather than the big fat Punjabi family. It all just feels like a family holiday.

The highlight of the evening was Neil going down on one knee to propose to Rukmini, a scene which looked straight out of a Bollywood film. It was followed by the ring ceremony, champagne popping, cake cutting and dancing to the tunes of DJ Suketu. Here are few pictures from the lavish event:
