Director Imtiaz Ali finally reacts over Pahlaj Nihalani headed CBFC’s disapproval of the term ‘intercourse’ in Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma’s Jab Harry Met Sejal. Present at the launch of his latest song Beech Beech Mein, when he was asked to share his views on the same, he said that when the board will watch the movie, they will not find it inappropriate.
“See, I think the Censor Board obviously has to do its work, but when they will watch our film, I think probably they won’t find it inappropriate. Other than this, I don’t have anything else to say on this”.
In one of the mini trailers released from the upcoming film, actress Anushka Sharma can be seen handing over an ‘indemnity bond’ to Shah Rukh, saying there won’t be any legal ramifications if the couple ends up having an intercourse. Following which, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairman Pahlaj Nihalani condemned the telecast of the trailer on television platform. He had a problem with the word ‘intercourse’ used in the trailer. After the brouhaha, he demanded that if he gets one lakh votes from common people in its support, he will clear the usage of “intercourse”.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Jab Harry Met Sejal will see Shah Rukh Khan essaying the role of Harinder Singh Nehra aka Harry, a tourist guide who falls in love with a Gujrati girl, Sejal played by Anushka Sharam. It is a romantic flick, which will also mark the third collaboration of SRK and Anushka. They have earlier shared the screen space in films like Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
Slated to hit the screens on August 4, this is the first Bollywood outing of both Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma with director Imtiaz Ali.
