Judwaa 2, one of the most anticipated movies of this year, has stricken all the right chords with the audience as it collected Rs 16.10 crore on its opening day at the Box Office. The film is a reboot of the hit 1997 film Judwaa. Helmed by David Dhawan, the film opened up on an excellent note and became the third best Bollywood openers of 2017 after Raees and Tubelight. The film surpassed the opening day collection of Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal.
The film also emerged as the biggest opener till date for Varun as his last release, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which raked in approximately Rs 12.25 crore on its opening day. The theatrical trailer had worked well with the audience and the same has translated into the Box Office numbers for sure. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles.
Unveiling the numbers of the film at the Box Office, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted “Judwaa 2 pumps oxygen in the lungs of an ailing industry… Has a TERRIFIC Day 1”. He further wrote:
