The fifth day in theatres of the Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaabil brought some good news for the makers. The movie earned around 15.05 crore on its first Sunday proving that the movie has not let go off its stronghold. The first Sunday collection of the film were better than the first day of release (when it earned only Rs 10.42 crore). With such numbers the grand total of Kaabil now stands at more than Rs 67 crore.
Directed y Sanjay Gupta, Kaabil had a Box Office clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees. Between the two movies, the SRK film has taken the lead with its total collections being close to Rs 75 crore.
However, it should be noted that as compared to Raees, Kaabil only got 40% of the screen count. This had in fact irked the makers of Kaabil. Rakesh Roshan had threatened that if such dirty practices (of not giving films a rightful share of screens) prevailed, he would quit making movies altogether. He had explained how he felt cheated when exhibitors didn’t keep their promise.

Reacting t’o these allegations by Rakesh, SRK had called the producer a father figure to him. He hoped both movies did equally well at the Box Office.

In Kaabil Hrithik plays the role of a blind man. After his wife is murdered by the antagonists, he knocked the door of judicial system for justice. But when Rohit Bhatnagar (Hrithik) didn’t get justice, he set on a dangerous path himself to seek revenge. Kaabil was appreciated for the way it captured the nuances of a blind man’s tale.
Let us see how the movie performs in the coming days. The collection would obviously bring a sigh of relief to Hrithik since his last movie Mohenjo Daro was a disappointment at the ticket counters. So if the movie earns well, it will definitely prove that Hrithik is one of the most bankable actors of the film industry.
