Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam starrer Kaabil passed the crucial Monday test at the Box Office and earned Rs 12 crore yesterday, suggested media reports. By adding this amount of money, the film now stands at a grand total of Rs 79.64 crore. Earning double-digit numbers on the first Monday would have definitely made the makers happy, especially since the movie clashed with Raees at the Box Office.
Taking into consideration these numbers and the pace the movie has picked up, it won’t be wrong to expect that it will enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club in the coming days. However, in terms of competition, Kaabil is still lagging behind Raees. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer has earned over Rs 100 crore, since its release on 25 January.
What makes the Box Office collection for Kaabil worthy of laud is the fact that the movie got a lesser share of screens. Though the makers were promised that screens will be equally distributed between Raees and Kaabil, the latter got only 40 per cent of total screens. The makers were obviously irked with this unfair distribution so much so that Rakesh Roshan threatened he would quit filmmaking if these practices prevail.

However, having such a decent Box Office collection points out that the movie braved all these unfavorable conditions. The growth of Kaabil is a result of positive word of mouth. Critics gave a thumbs up to this Sanjay Gupta directorial for capturing the nuances in telling the tale of a blond man. The protagonist Hrithik Roshan was lauded for his portrayal of Rohan Bhatnagar, a visually-challenged character. Critics even went on to say that Roshan delivered one of his finest performances in Kaabil.
