Karan Johar and nepotism go hand in hand. Despite the fact that the filmmaker vowed not to comment on it after the IIFA incident (when he cracked some unimaginative jokes on nepotism), Karan tried to define nepotism once again. Recently, at the press meet of Ittefaq, a film starring Sonakshi Sinha, Akshaye Khanna and Siddharth Malhotra, Karan Johar was asked about nepotism, and Karan has THIS to say,
On the platform, today, there are two non-nepotistic people – Shah Rukh Khan and Sidharth Malhotra and rest of us – Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, Akshaye Khanna, son of late actor Vinod Khanna, Abhay Chopra and Kapil Chopra, sons of late filmmaker Ravi Chopra, are the brand ambassador of nepotism. As we stand together, it speaks a volume about how worth they are equally, efficiently and correctly.

When Kangana Ranaut called Karan Johar the flagbearer of nepotism, earlier this year, on Koffee With Karan, she made way for a lot of debate and conversations. After Karan Johar, Saif Ali Khan, and Varun Dhawan took a dig at Kangana on the stage of IIFA this year, things turned ugly. Apologising after the incident, Karan said it was in bad taste and he would choose not to talk about it after this. But, staying away from this topic looked impossible for KJo, it seems.

We wonder if this statement of Karan Johar will again stir a debate and shift the focus from Ittefaq. Directed by Abhay Chopra, the movie is the remake of the original film of the same name made in 1969. The film produced by B.R. Chopra and directed by Yash Chopra featured Rajesh Khanna. The makers did not extensively promote the movie on any platform to keep the mystery alive. The film will hit screens on November 3.
