Arjun Kapoor’s first outing with his uncle Anil Kapoor for the silver screen Mubarakan has started on a decent note at the Box Office. The movie which also features Ileana D’Cruz, Athiya Shetty and Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles has earned Rs 5.25 crore at the Box Office. The film is expected to pick up the pace in the coming days as most of the critics have said the movie is a perfect family entertainer.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, the movie is the story of a dysfunctional Punjabi family living in London. At the center of this family are two twins- Charan and Karan, with diametrically opposite characters. The individual love stories of these siblings and the way their lives got entangled in a confusion, formed the crux of the story. In the entire film, Anil Kapoor’s role of an uncle who adds to the confusion has been appreciated.
Many critics have said the movie has offered something which was missing since a long time- a rib-tickling comedy movie which viewers could watch with their families. Well, Anees Bazmee is known for making movies for the family audience and it looks like he has struck the right chord once again.
However, Mubarakan was not the only film which released yesterday. Madhur Bhandarkar directorial Indu Sarkar, set against the backdrop of Emergency, and Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Raag Desh also hit screens. The latter featured Kunal Kapoor, Mohit Marwah and Amit Sadh as three INA soldiers who were tried for treason and murder at the Red Fort. With three releases, only time will tell which movie emerges as the winner.
With Mubarakan off to a good start, Arjun Kapoor definitely has a reason to rejoice. His last film Half Girlfriend too was a hit and he can now celebrate the new happiness along with chacha Anil.
