Mumbai’s air pollution has freaked out celebs; Sonam Kapoor, Richa Chadda tweet about it

After Delhi, now Mumbai is fighting toxic air and air pollution post-Diwali. Reportedly, the air quality in Mumbai has deteriorated post-Diwali. A Bollywood celebrity who is massively affected by the rising air pollution is Sonam Kapoor.

Recently, the Neerja actress revealed that she was having breathing issues and had developed bronchitis due to the rising air pollution in the city.

A while ago, Richa Chadda and Sophie Choudry too had tweeted about the devastating pollution levels in Maximum City.

Here’s what Richa tweeted:

Supporting Richa’s tweet and expressing her own plight, the Neerja actress tweeted:

Sophie Choudry, while sharing her experience, tweeted:

According to a new report published in the medical journal Lancet, five lakh Indians died in 2015 because of pollutant PM2.5. The report also said that indoor air pollution caused a total of 1.24 lakh deaths in India in 2015. Indoor air pollution causes deaths linked to pneumonia, stroke, heart disease and lung cancer.
