The 64th National Film Awards were announced today and Bollywood’s Akshay Kumar bagged the Best Actor award for his movie, Rustom. Sonam Kapoor’s Neerja received the award for Best Visual Effects whereas Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu starrer Pink bagged the award for the Best Film on Social Issue. Zaira Wasim of Aamir Khan’s Dangal has received the award for Best Supporting Actress. Nagesh Kukunoor’s Dhanak won the award for the Best Children’s Film.
Soon after the awards were announced, congratulatory messages started pouring in for the actors and Anupam Kher was the one who seemed pretty excited about it. He congratulated all the winners and posted separate tweets wishing Akshay Kumar, Zaira Wasim, Sonam Kapoor and Team Pink. Twinkle Khanna was too overwhlemed with Akshay Kumar winning his first-ever National Award. Nagesh Kukunoor also expressed his happiness at receiving the prestigious award, while Neerja‘s producer, Atul Kasbekar also expressed gratitude to fans and the Bhanot family.
