Sonakshi Sinha’s latest release Noor received a very cold response from the audience on its opening day and it was assumed that the film will do a good business over the weekend. But it seems like the Sonakshi Sinha starrer failed to impress the audience. While the movie was highly appreciated by the film critics, it was not able to connect with the people.
Wth its weak collections, Noor is struggling to make its place at the box office and is struggling really hard for its existence not only domestically but in the international market as well. In three days of its release, the film has shown an impressing growth in terms of the collection as compared to that of Friday and Sunday figures. Noor has done a business of Rs 1.54 crore on Friday, Rs 1.89 crore on Saturday and Rs 2.09 crore on Sunday, minting a total of Rs 5.52 crore so far.
Helmed by Sunhil Sippy, Noor is based on Saba Imtiaz’s novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me!“. Apart from Sonakshi, the film also stars Kanan Gill, Shibani Dandekar and Purab Kohli in important roles. Though people loved Sonakshi’s journalist avatar in the film, but it looks like the storyline and performance were not up to the audience expectations.
Noor was competing with Raveena Tandon’s Maatr at the box office, which also released on the same date. While the Raveena starrer did a business of Rs 40 lakhs on Friday and Saturday respectively, earning a total of Rs 80 lakhs so far, Sonakshi’s film is way ahead of Raveena’s Maatr in terms of collection.
Here’s what trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted:
#Noor has a dull weekend. Biz saw growth, but not substantial enough… Fri 1.54 cr, Sat 1.89 cr, Sun 2.09 cr. Total: ₹ 5.52 cr. India biz.

Well, with its slow and steady growth at the box office it will be interesting to see how Noor performs in the coming weeks.
