Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh’s latest release Phillauri is creating magic everywhere. With its unique concept, beautiful cinematography and soulful music, the film is being highly praised not only by the audience but film critics as well.
The film opened to an occupancy of only 15 percent across India on its opening day but saw an incredible growth of over 30 percent over the weekend. Domestically, Phillauri is doing exceptionally well in the north, where maximum collections are from Punjab. All thanks to Diljit Dosanjh’s huge popularity.
Phillauri is not only doing good domestically but is also going great at the overseas market as well. In the first week of its release, Phillauri did a business of Rs 21.03 crores domestically and earned over 34 crores globally so far. All in all, the film has managed to remain steady at the worldwide box office.
Made on a budget of Rs 21 crores, Phillauri earned Rs 12 crores before its release through satellite and music rights. According to trade experts, the film is expected to make a lifetime collection of Rs 30 crore, which is also a profitable deal for Anushka-Diljit’s film.
Helmed by Anshai Lal, the film is an unfinished love story of a friendly ghost named Shashi and brings two lifetimes together. Phillauri is Anushka Sharma’s second production venture after NH10 and this is for the first time that the actress has played the character of a ghost on-screen.
