Actress Vidya Balan is gearing up for the release of her next film Begum Jaan. But before, its release she gets a chance to meet the real Begum Jaan Rituparna Sengupta. Vidya recently reached Kolkata to promote the film, where she met the Trishna star and even got clicked together in one frame. Directed by National Award-winner Srijit Mukherji, Begum Jaan is a Hindi adaptation of critically-acclaimed Bengali outing Rajkahini. The film featured Rituparna Sengupta in the main lead.

Excited Vidya took to her twitter and shared the candid pictures of with Ritu and wrote: When both the #BegumJaans meet…Cake ka partition toh banta hai!!

Recently, speculation was rife that ever since Srijit, who has helmed both the film, declared that Vidya was his first choice for his film Rajkahini, Rituparna got upset with the news. Even in an interview with a leading daily, Rituparna strongly expressed his view and said that she was not at all aware of the fact that Srijit wanted Vidya and not her to play the role. But this recent picture of Vidya and Ritu has a different story to tell. As the two of them not at all seems disturbed with each other presence and happily enjoyed the moment.

Begum Jaan slated to hit the screen on April 14. The film has been set against the backdrop of the country’s partition in 1947. Apart from Vidya, the film also stars Pallavi Sharda, Ridheema Tiwary, Ashish Vidyarthi, Chunky Pandey and Rajit Kapoor in pivotal roles. Begum Jaan has been produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films.

Apart from Begum Jaan, Vidya also has a romantic comedy film Tumhari Sulu in her kitty. In the film, she will be seen essaying the role of a Radio Jockey.
