Vinod Khanna’s career in Bollywood was shrouded with many questions. Critics constantly questioned his choice of movies, asking why he chose to do negative roles or agreed to be the second fiddle to the hero. But these questions did little to affect Vinod Khanna’s love for acting. He went on to do movies that appealed to him. And we are glad that Vinod Khanna did not let anything to change him.

Parvarish:
Directed by Manmohan Desai, this Hindi crime drama featured Amitabh Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Neetu Singh in pivotal roles too. In this movie, Vinod played the role of Shammi Kapoor’s son and he had a wicked streak. The way he did justice to the role of a man torn between his upbringing and his inbuilt nature, got Vinod Khanna rave reviews.
Dayavan
Directed by Feroz Khan, Vinod Khanna played the role of a don in this movie. But he had a heart of gold and helped the needy. This was one of the initial movies in which Vinod Khanna romanced Madhuri Dixit. This on-screen couple gained immense popularity as well.
Amar Akbar Anthony
If there is one movie that featured Vinod Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan worked in together and it went on to become a cult classic, it is Amar Akbar Anthony. Also starring Rishi Kapoor in a pivotal role, the movie was directed by Manmohan Desai and was the story of three brothers separated at birth. A rollercoaster of human emotions, this movie will definitely be remembered as one of Vinod Khanna’s best performance.
Qurbani
This 1980 movie boasted of an ensemble cast of Feroz Khan, Vinod Khanna, Zeenat Aman, Amjad Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Amrish Puri and Kadar Khan. An adaptation of the 1972 Italian film The Master Touch and was lauded for the content. It was one movie that showed the chemistry between Feroz Khan and Vinod Khanna brilliantly.
