In just 3 days of its release, Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees has proved that the movie is going to rule the box office, no matter what. Raees is all set to pack a fabulous total in its 5-day weekend. The movie broke the box office record, by becoming the highest grossing film on Republic Day, leaving behind Salman Khan’s Jai Ho.
The movie did a business of Rs 20.42 crore on Wednesday, Rs 26.30 crore on Thursday and Rs 13.11 crore on Friday, minting a total of Rs 59.83 so far. Not only domestically, the movie is doing great at the international market as well.
Directed by Rahul Dholakia, Raees is set in the backdrop of Gujarat in the 80s and also marks the Bollywood debut of Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. While Shah Rukh will be seen portraying the character of a wicked bootlegger Raees Alam, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be playing the role of a cop whose sole motive is to put him behind the bars.
Despite being in competition with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, the movie is doing great at the box office. Raees received mixed reviews by the audience and the film critics, but it seems like the reviews have not affected SRK fans much.

Well, with Raees going really strong at the box office, it would be interesting to see if the movie be able to break any records of Aamir Khan’s Dangal.
