Now, he has gone an extra mile for his role in Raabta which has Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. His fans were shocked to see his new avatar in the Dinesh Vijan directorial which releases on 9 June. His new look is beyond recognition, speaking volumes about his dedication towards his work.
To essay the role of a 324-year-old Rao underwent 6-hour long prosthetic makeup daily to get that perfect look. Hats off to him. By the way, he is not the only actor who has withstood the pain for a film. Here are 6 other actors who sat for long hours before the mirror to get their look right.
Amitabh Bachchan (Paa): Amitabh Bachchan essayed a role of progeria-stricken boy Auro in R Balki’s Paa in 2009. It is a medical condition in which a man ages rapidly. It is reported that Big B used to undergo makeup for six hours everyday during the shooting of the film to apply and remove the makeup. Shah Rukh Khan (Fan): Shah Rukh Khan essayed the role of a 25-year-old Delhi boy Gaurav Chandna in 2016 release Fan. The superstar had to sit for 4-5 hours during make-up, which he described as the ‘single most irritating thing in the world.’ The actor revealed how he would control his anger while going through the painful process.
Akshay Kumar (2.0): After he played baddie in Ajnabee 16 years ago, Akshay Kumar will don the negative avatar in Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0. The National Award winning actor scared everyone with his new look in the Shankar directorial. He looks damn devilish with big nails and yellow eyes.

Randeep Hooda (Sarbjit): Randeep Hooda earned worldwide critical acclaim for portraying the titular role of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh in Sarbjit last year. He underwent several transformations to justify the look of Singh who was sentenced to death in Pakistan before being murdered in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail. To look older, the make-up artistes applied a bit of concealer and used nude liquid foundation on his face. And the result is quite obvious.
Rishi Kapoor (Kapoor & Sons): Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor played the ageing patriarch in 2016 release Kapoor & Sons. Kapoor’s makeup was done by Greg Cannom, who has earlier worked in Hollywood classics like The Titanic and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It is believed that the entire cost of Kapoor’s look cost a whopping Rs 2 crore. And he did full justice to the amount spent on him.
Hrithik Roshan (Dhoom 2): Hrithik Roshan won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for portraying a thief in Dhoom 2. Known as Master of Disguise in the film, he donned several looks to carry out the heist in the film. Right from doing the get-up of a queen to an old man, Hrithik impressed everyone with his performance.
