Rajkummar Rao starrer award-winning film Newton is set to hit the screens on August 18. The Behen Hogi Teri actor took to Twitter and share the release date of the film. He also posted a new poster of the film.
In the poster, Rajkummar, shielded by a helmet and a military vest, is seen running with an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). The poster’s caption reads “Seedha Aadmi Ulti Duniya”. The film’s story revolves around a clerk placed on election duty in a Naxal-ridden area of Chhattisgarh.
The film is produced by Manish Mundra of Drishyam Films, the company best known for backing critically-acclaimed projects such as Masaan and Umrika.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who has worked with Rajkummar on films like Shahid and Aligarh also praised him for his upcoming film. Calling him unstoppable he tweeted:

In another tweet, Mehta clarified that he is just “an admirer and well-wisher” of Newton, directed by Amit Masurkar.

Before its release, Newton has won many hearts across the globe. The film won the Art Cinema Award for the Forum section at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival, where it had its world premiere.

Not only Mehta, many other B-Town mates of Rajkummar also lauded Rajkummar Rao’s next Newton. Aditi Rao Haydari, Manoj Bajpai, Jai Mehta also praised him.
Recently, Rajkummar was seen in Behen Hogi Teri along with Shruti Haasan. The film did not live up to the expectations and performed dismally at the Box Office.
