Ranbir Kapoor’s much anticipated film, Jagga Jasoos tanked at the box-office in India. The film was in making for over 3 years and there were reports about constant delay ever since it went on floors due to the unplanned style of shooting the film.
Ranbir Kapoor recently revealed that Anurag Basu used to cancel 30 to 40 days of film schedule without thinking much about the cast and crew just because he wasn’t happy with the way he had planned the schedule.
Just a couple of day before its release, the film ran into a small controversy after Govinda expressed his displeasure on twitter over his role in the film being chopped off completely. Ranbir Kapoor in an interview apologized to the actor and revealed that Anurag Basu felt that Govinda’s role would not play any role in taking the story forward since there were a lot of changes at the script level which made Govinda’s sub-plot inconsequential.

As the film is out of almost all cinema halls by now, Rishi Kapoor in an interview to a leading daily slammed Anurag Basu. He said,
“Sometimes, Ranbir’s films do well, sometimes, they don’t. But here, Ranbir is the producer too, and his neck is in the noose. Who the hell are you [Basu] to do all this? It is ridiculous that a producer hadn’t seen his product a day ahead of the film’s release. You may be the biggest director in the world but nobody would like to work with you because you are irresponsible. There is somebody else’s money involved in this. I trusted you, and this is what you give us? Ranbir hasn’t held back on spending money on it. You even threw Govinda out of the film. If you don’t want Govinda to work in your film, why did you ask him in the first place? Iss sab mein Ranbir ka naam toh kharaab hoga, aur kya? Mera kharaab hoga! (With these developments, it’s Ranbir and my name that’s gathered negative limelight).”
We wonder what Anurag Basu has to say over this now.
