Do you remember the Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit-starrer Thanedaar which featured the popular old track, Tamma Tamma? Released in 1990, the film was successful at the Box Office and the duo impressed the audience with their sizzling onscreen chemistry. But you will be surprised to know that initially, Sanjay was very nervous to perform along side dancing diva Madhuri Dixit-Nene. Sanjay, who is gearing up for the release of his comeback film Bhoomi, recently visited the sets of TV show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs Season 6 for the film’s promotion. When a contestant sang the iconic song on the show, Sanjay got quite nostalgic. This particular episode of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs Season 6 featuring Dutt will air on Saturday, September 16, on Zee TV.
Touted to be one of Bollywood’s best jodis of their time, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit worked together in films like Saajan, Kanoon Apna Apna, Khatron Ke Khiladi and Ilaaka among others.
Recollecting the days when he shot for Tamma Tamma, the Bhoomi actor revealed that he had to rehearse for 16 days before shooting for the song with Madhuri.
I remember the time when I was asked to match steps with Madhuri Dixit while shooting for the song ‘Tamma Tamma’. As soon as I found out I was so nervous because I dance like a crow and I had to perform alongside Madhuri who is known for her dancing. To perfect the steps, I rehearsed for 16 days straight. I was still apprehensive to perform but finally I did it.
