Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 3, featuring megastar Amitabh Bachchan, has now got a new release date. The film, which also features Manoj Bajpayee, Ronit Roy, Yami Gautam and Jackie Shroff among others, is now set to release on 7 April instead of 17 March. While the reasons behind the shift are not known currently, the interesting part is that Sarkar 3 will now face a Box Office clash with Jagga Jasoos.
The Anurag Basu film, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif was long awaited. The trailer of the film got released in December, last year and added on to the curiosity around the film. The change is more surprising because had Sarkar 3 gone with its planned scheduled, it would have enjoyed a free-run at the Box Office since no film was releasing on the same date. The announced in a statement on Tuesday, 7 February.
Presented by Eros International and produced by Allumbra Entertainment, Wave Cinemas and AB Corp, Sarkar 3 is the third film in Varma’s Sarkar series. Sarkar, which released in 2005, is set in the world of Indian politics. Its sequel Sarkar Raj had hit the screens in 2008.
Sarkar 3 will see Amitabh reprising his role of Subhash Nagre. It will now be interesting to see yet another big Box Office clash this year.
