Saturday was one such day when Mumbai was high on music and glamour. It was the ‘global citizen’ fest, which witnessed around 80,000 people at the MMRDA ground at Bandra-Kurla complex. The fest saw some really cool and electrifying performances and the major attraction being the international rock band Coldplay. People went crazy when the band’s front-man, Chris Martin started singing Vande Mataram (India’s national song) with music maestro AR Rahman and it was nothing less than magical. The band also enthralled the crowds by singing their hit numbers like A head full of dreams, The scientist, Paradise, A sky full of stars and Fix you.
Martin not only surprised his fans by singing Vande Mataram, but also sang a few line of Arijit Singh’s popular song Channa Mereya from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. In fact, the Indian connect didn’t end there. The instruments also had a touch of Indian elements like their band name was written in Hindi.
