Shah Rukh Khan will be essaying the role of a dwarf in Aanand L Rai’s next untitled film. The 51-year-old actor will share the screen space with Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif for the second time after Jab Tak Hai Jaan. The film is currently on the floor.
Rai finally revealed the reason behind the actor’s dwarf look: “I loved seeing Hrithik (Roshan) fly off a 250-feet building, it was brilliantly done, but deep down I felt this wasn’t us. Apart from our mythological demigods, Indians aren’t ready for superheroes, kadd mein hum abhi bahut chhote hain. That’s what made me want to live life from the perspective of a dwarf”.
“I wanted to cut the all-important two feet from a star as big and confident as Khan saab, then tell a love story. Being an intelligent man, he knew what I was talking about,” the film director, who directed films like Raanjhanaa, Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns, added further.
Rai also narrated the experience of shooting with Salman Khan, who has a cameo role in the film.”It was my fanboy moment, I stopped being a director and was clapping as an audience,” he added further.
Shah Rukh Khan and Rai have bonded well while shooting, and their conversation on Twitter is the evidence.

The film also features Tigmanshu Dhulia, who will play Shah Rukh Khan’s father in the film. The 50-year-old actor in an interview to InUth revealed the reason behind him playing a dad to 51-year-old SRK.
“The main reason why I signed this film was not that I am an actor but am also a director. This movie has a lot of visual effects because Shah Rukh is playing a dwarf. The director in me wanted to just sneak into the sets learn how the movie is being shot,” he said. Dhulia has featured in films like Gangs of Wasseypur 1 & 2, Shahid, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and others.
