Come 25 January and 2017 will witness its first mega box-office clash. Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees will lock horns with Kaabil featuring Hrithik Roshan. There have been endless speculations about a possible rivalry between the two stars regarding the film’s release date. Now, Kaabil’s producer Rakesh Roshan has predicted how both the films will fare at the box office.
Roshan predicted that both the films will do reasonably well at the box office. He even went on to predict that both will together earn Rs 300 crore. Roshan also denied any kind of hostilities between both the stars. In an interview to BollywoodLife, he expressed his displeasure on both the films clashing at the box office. He said:
Actually it is not right. Because if you see Hollywood also, the way they strategise, no two big films release together if you go back 10 years and see. You will never see Superman and Batman releasing together. And we have only 4-5 actors over here who are ruling the industry. There are so many weeks in the entire year, so why clash? By clashing you are eating into each other’s business.
It should be noted that Hrithik and SRK have shared screen space in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham 15 years ago. As far as Raaes and Kaabil are concerned, both films are entirely different in nature. Shah Rukh plays a bootlegger-tuned-don in Raaes, which also features Mahira Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Sunny Leone has made a cameo appearance with her performance in the song Laila. Do watch the film’s trailer here.
On the other hand, Kaabil is a revenge drama starring Hrithik Roshan, Yami Gautam, Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy in pivotal roles.
