It’s been 10 years since Imtiaz Ali gave us Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor starrer Jab We Met. Reportedly, Shahid and Imtiaz are teaming up once again. If the reports in the media are anything to go by, then Shahid and Imtiaz have already teamed for a new film. While Shahid is all geared up for the new project, the female lead of the film has not been finalised.
Much like the director’s previous films, the project will be shot both in India and abroad. Giving more deets about the film, a source said,
The film kicks off in Mumbai in April and will be followed by an extensive shoot, both in India and abroad. At the moment, Imtiaz is still looking for a leading lady to be cast opposite Shahid for this rom-com.
Looks like Shahid Kapoor has already started preparing for the role. Recently, when he was spotted at the airport with wife Mira and daughter Misha Kapoor, the actor was seen covering his face with a scarf. Was he trying to keep the look under wraps? Can’t say! Here are the pictures:
Earlier, talking about why none of Imtiaz’s films was as popular and widely acclaimed as Jab We Met, Shahid had once said in an interview,
Jab We Met is a film that happens and people shouldn’t put that pressure on Imtiaz. It’s very difficult to live up to a film like Jab We Met, though as a director, in the long run, I’m sure he will prove to be better than what people judge him on the basis of Jab We Met to be.Those kinds of films don’t come every day, even as an actor I’ll be fortunate if I get one or two more love stories as good as Jab We Met. Some films just become very memorable and Jab We Met has become one of those films.
What about the famous Jab We Met jodi, will the ex-lovers unite for a film? Talking about the possibilities of working with the actress, Shahid had said in the same interview:
The politically correct answer would be ‘yes of course if a film comes our way we will do it’, but it will be very difficult. However, as an actor, I’m a professional and if I’m asked as a professional decision on this, I would say that if my director believes that she is the best person to cast in the film, I would not tell them not to.
Well, it would be interesting to see how this new film shapes up post the failure of Jab Harry Met Sejal and who gets paired opposite Shahid.
