Sonam Kapoor is not different from other women, in a way that she too is asked about her engagement and marriage plans. Despite being one of the most sought after actresses of Bollywood, Sonam Kapoor is not immune to these questions and rumors that she is engaged to keep doing rounds of media on a regular basis. It seems Sonam has had enough of these and decided to put an end with a tweet tagging the publication which asked about her engagement.
Taking to Twitter, Sonam Kapoor wrote if ‘sources’ close to her told these publications about her engagement, then maybe it was time they got new sources. Sonam added her friends and family would not talk about her personal life. In the tweets later, Sonam pointed out it was sad women were asked questions about marriage when men weren’t. See said a woman cannot be quantified by the rock on her finger. As soon as Sonam put out these tweets she was lauded by many for taking a stand for herself.
Sonam Kapoor’s love life has hogged a lot of limelight in the recent past. Though she refrains from talking about her personal life, her pictures with rumored beau Anand Ahuja have given tabloids a lot to talk about. And it must have been this obsession with her personal life that people could not stop writing about it.

By asking why male actors aren’t asked such questions, Sonam Kapoor has once again exposed the sexism in the industry. She had earlier revealed how it was difficult to find producers for her movie Veere Di Wedding, despite the movie having actresses like Swara Bhaskar and Kareena Kapoor Khan on board.
Now that Sonam has slammed all the cooked up news pieces, maybe there will be less of these items from now on.
