Following the uproar by the controversial tweets of Sonu Nigam, the security has been beefed up at his residence. This comes after the Vice President of West Bengal Minority United Council has issued a fatwa against the singer for his comments over Aazaan.
According to the reports published in the ‘DNA’ Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi said,”If anyone can shave his hair, put a garland of old torn shoes around his neck and tour him around the country I personally announce an award of Rs 10 lakh for that person.”
After the fatwa, Sonu took to Twitter today and said he is ready to shave his head. He wrote, “Today at 2 pm Aalim will come to my place, and shave my head. Keep your 10 lakhs ready Maulavi.”

Earlier, Sonu Nigam expressed his angst over the use of loudspeakers for religious purposes on Twitter. In a series of tweets, he vented his anger over the ‘forced religiousness’ the country and questioned when this ‘ Goondagardi’ will stop.
After this Sonu was relentlessly trolled and even a FIR was filed against him in Mumbai. However, Sonu clarified on the issue, saying, “When I am talking about Loudspeakers, I did mention Temples and Gurudwaras too.”
He posted a series of tweets saying, “Dear everyone. Your stand exposes your own IQ. I stand by my statement that loudspeakers should not be allowed in Mosques & Temples. Period.”
“And dear Everyone, for those who are tainting my Tweets anti-Muslim, tell me 1 place where I have said anything related, & I’ll apologize.”
“When I am talking about Loudspeakers, I did mention Temples and Gurudwaras too. Is it that hard to comprehend? Loosen up guys”.
