Bollywood’s bhaijaan Salman Khan turns 51 today. Social media is abuzz with fans and colleagues wishing him on his big day. In his 25-year-long career, Khan has witnessed several ups and downs in his career. While most of his films have turned out to be hits, few of them have not fared well at the box office.
On his birthday, we have a list of 7 films which Salman could have done without. No offence meant, but his fans must have watched these films as well.
1. Suryavanshi (1992): Directed by Rakesh Kumar, the Salman Khan-starrer chronicled the life of a warrior prince (an Indian version of He-Man) who fights with the cannibal, leopards in an amphitheatre. The film is sure to give you headaches. It’s like, kya majboori thi bhai? Here’s an epic scene from the film.
2. Jaagruti (1992): You do not have options as a struggler in the film industry, and want to grab any offer which comes in your way. It seems Salman Khan was thinking the same when he signed this film.
Directed by Suresh Krishna, Khan played younger brother to an honest police officer (Pankaj Dheer), who is killed before him. Later, he is taken to a forest and trained by a tribal chief. The film which had Karisma Kapoor opposite him failed miserably at the box office.
3. Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa (2004): A poor script cannot hold a film together, even if it features a superstar. Salman Khan learned it the hard way in the film directed by his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri. A triangular love story also featuring Bhumika Chawla and Preity Zinta, the film narrates the story of a woman (Bhumika) who donates her heart to another woman (Preity) before dying. And guess what, Salman falls in love with the latter. I mean, what were the screenwriters thinking?

4. Saawan The Love Season (2006): Salman Khan has played a cop, singer, warrior prince. But Saawan Kumar Tak gave him an opportunity to play a soothsayer. Yes, the superstar donned long hair in this forgettable venture titled Saawan The Love Season. He could even predict the time of the death of a person as well. After watching this film, you might need to consult a therapist. Just watch this scene from the ‘cult’ movie which even Bhaijaan would not like to boast of.
5. Yuvvraj (2008): It was poised as one of the biggest hits of the year. Directed by Subhash Ghai and penned by Sachin Bhowmick, Yuvvraj boasted of an ensemble cast comprising Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and of course Zayed Khan. But the film bombed at the box office, and reasons are quite obvious. However, the songs of the film were an instant hit. Still if you want to watch the film, its’ your personal choice.
6. Main Aur Mrs Khanna (2009): Directed by Prem Soni, the film featured Salman Khan opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan, and brother Sohail Khan also playing a pivotal role. It was expected that he would weave the same magic at the box office like his Eid release Wanted that year. Sadly, the film bombed at the box office. Reason-The story was like an old wine in a packaged bottle.

7. Veer (2010): This film was a historical drama, penned by none other than Salman himself. Can you believe it? Based on Pindaris’ resistance in Rajasthan during British rule. Despite having stars like Mithun Chakraborty, Jackie Shroff and of course Sohail Khan, the film tanked at the box office. The only cloud in silver lining was the song ‘Surili Ankhiyon Wale’ sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
