Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s sudden demise is not only a shock for the political world, but also for the film industry. She took her last breathe on Tuesday, 6 December at the Apollo Hospital in Chennai. She was loving called Amma and was the superstar of Tamil cinema.
She signed her first film at the age of 16 to keep herself busy during the summer vacations. But what started as a time pass, became her lifeline. With her on-screen confidence and a charismatic personality, she managed to become one of the most celebrated actress of her time. In fact, she is the only Tamil actress to have maximum number of silver jubilee hits.
As the whole film industry is mourning her death, actress Sridevi took to Twitter and shared a lovely picture with Amma. The actress also started her career with Tamil films and was fortunate enough to share the screen space with none other than Jayalalithaa in film Aathi Parasakthi, in which Jaya portrayed the role of Goddess Shakti while Sridevi essayed Lord Kartikeya.

Saddened by the demise of a great leader and a phenomenal actress, Sridevi wrote on Twitter: A great leader who drew huge respect,love,adulation & worshiped by millions of followers,the country will surely miss Jayalalithaa Amma. RIP
She also posted a rare picture of the good old days with the post. She remembered her for being the most dignified,cultured & caring lady and wrote:
