The Mrs Funnybones of Internet had a hilarious response to her husband Akshay Kumar winning the National Award for best actor for his role in Rustom. Taking to Twitter, Twinkle wrote that her husband is now the ‘Trophy Husband’ and she can proudly call him that.
It is not hidden that Twinkle Khanna loved taking a jibe at Akshay for not winning awards. She used to tell him that her parents- Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, both of them won National Awards but he didn’t. But by winning the award, Akshay has definitely made his wife Twinkle really proud. At the ceremony, Akshay was accompanied by Twinkle and their son Aarav. It was undoubtedly a huge moment for the family and the expressions on their faces gave away their joy in hearts.

Akshay’s National Award win raised many eyebrows with many criticising the choice. The critics of the celebrated award said that the star did not deserve the award and there were more actors who should have been awarded. They cited the examples of Aamir Khan in Dangal and Manoj Bajpayee in Aligarh.

However, the Rustom actor feels that all these opinions wouldn’t let anyone taint the joyous feeling for him. Making his case, Akshay said he deserved the award and achieving it was one of the best days of his life.
