In a shocking incident, a man was stabbed in Gopalpura resident after a disagreement over Sonu Nigam’s rant on azaans. A report in Hindustan Times stated that when Shivam Rai spoke in favour of Sonu Nigam he infuriated Mohammad Nagori and Faizan Khan who threatened him over the phone. Rai said that the two of them asked him to meet in the evening and stabbed him with knives. The victim had gone to meet them along with his friend.
Rai said that Nagori and Khan called him to Freeganj area. ““Later, they asked me to meet them in Freeganj area. When I reached there with my friend, Ayush Shreewas, they attacked us with knives,” Rai was quoted by Hindustan Times. Reportedly, after stabbing Rai and his friend, they fled the scene.
The station in-charge of Madhavnagar MS Parmar said that a case of attempted murder has been filed against the accused. They are yet to be arrested in this case.

Sonu Nigam stirred a new controversy when he spoke about his sleep getting disturbed because of the azaan playing in loudspeakers. He had tweeted, “God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India. And by the way Mohammed did not have electricity when he made Islam.. Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison?”

After his tweets, a cleric from West Bengal announced a bounty of Rs 10 lakhs to anyone who would shave the singer’s head. After the Sonu called a press conference and went bald and asked the cleric to bring the promised amount. After Sonu’s act, the cleric said that he did not meet all the conditions. In a recent development of this case, it has now been revealed that the man who announced the amount is not an Imam after all.
