Former celebrity Uday Chopra is always trying to get his popular status. Sadly, he chooses to never make sense whenever he is in the news. This time, he jumped in on the ongoing fairness cream debate, which has already made actress Sonam Kapoor its victim.
Earlier, Bollywood actor Abhay Deol had criticised fairness creams for promoting that idea that whiter skin is better. “There’s a lot more of these campaigns that are blatantly, and sometimes subtly, selling you the idea that whiter skin is better than darker skin. No one at the top of their game in any field is going to tell you that it is demeaning, false, and racist,” Deol wrote on Facebook.
Chopra, the wise man that he is, tweeted, “What is this nonsense with fairness creams. If fairness creams are racist then so is hair color. It’s a personal choice! #NotRacist”

His tweet invited a lot of backlash. One user, in reply to his tweet, stated, “Mr. Chopra fairness creams say people who have white skin are only beautiful or handsom [sic]. So is it not racist ??”

The trolling continued with other people pointing out Uday Chopra’s basic lack of understanding of how the world works.
Look at what nepotism breeds. Tsk tsk. pic.twitter.com/Dgp0cEYIg3

Yes, because people have been discriminated against on the basis of hair color. Give this man a medal. https://t.co/QP0lnGuCDy

@udaychopra Throw the rest of that doob away and clear out your brain.

@udaychopra You clearly missed the point what @AbhayDeol had to convey.
