Self-defence is really important for women and apparently, Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu wish everyone understood it. In a video, that the two stars shared on social media yesterday, they can be seen imparting this important lesson to women. Tapasee started the video by shedding light on the safety of the women and how they are harassed at many places.
Taapsee, then added, that it is high time women waited for anyone else to come to their rescue. She said with a little presence of mind, women can fight the molesters and save themselves.
Giving insight on why it becomes somehow impossible for women to defend themselves, Taapsee said when a molester gropes the woman, she freezes. At that point of time, the woman doesn’t think clearly. But the actress added that it was during that split second when taking action becomes necessary.
Through the video, Taapsee then showed how to protect oneself. Akshay Kumar, too, joined her in it and the two taught how to ‘Kohni Maar’.
This is not the first time that Akshay has participated in something that teaches women about self-defense. Along with Shiv Sena chairperson Aditya Thackeray he has set up a Women’s Self Defence Centre (WSDC) to empower women. In fact, last year, one of the students of the academy fought with her molester and single -handedly dragged him to the police station to have him arrested. When the Khiladi Kumar of Bollywood learnt about this incident, he applauded the young girl Shreya and said he was proud of her.
Now, with Taapsee Pannu joining him for this, it would really help women understand the importance of self-defence. Watch the video here:
