Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor’s upcoming film Half Girlfriend is all set to enthrall the audience with its one of a kind love story. Recently, the trailer of the film was launched and it was highly praised not only by the audience but film critics as well. The 2-minute video garnered over 20 million views on YouTube within 2 days of its release.
Helmed by Mohit Suri, the film is an on-screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name and tells the story of a small-town boy Madhav Jha, who falls for a high-class Delhi girl Riya Somani and how she agrees to be his Half Girlfriend.
While the songs and Shraddha-Arjun’s equation is being liked by one and all, Arjun’s Bihari accent attracted a lot of controversies and the actor was even trolled for his poor Bihari accent in the film. But it looks like none of that has affected the film and after seeing all the love and response that the trailer and songs have received, it won’t be wrong to say that it will be one of the biggest hits of this year.
Not to forget, basketball is a very integral part of the film, as both the character are great basketball players. And to keep it more authentic, both Shraddha and Arjun have been trained by none other than the National Basketball Association (NBA) players.
