Deepika Padukone already has had her share of embarrassment here in India, with everyone comparing her to Priyanka Chopra. With both Bollywood actresses moving over to the west and doing India proud, comparisons are inevitable but, confusions are not (nor are they acceptable). Sadly, when the Piku actress stepped out of the Los Angeles airport, she was met with a warm and a very insulting “Hello Priyanka!” That has GOT to be super embarrassing.
Both Deepika Padukone made her mark in the west with her Hollywood debut xXx: Return of Xander Cage, starring along with Vin Diesel, Nina Dobrev and Ruby Rose. Priyanka Chopra made an early visit to the US by being cast as the lead in ABC’s crime drama thriller series Quantico. Chopra will also be starring in the upcoming Baywatch movie with Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron.
Deepika Padukone was recently addressed as Priyanka Chopra by foreign media as she stepped out of the Los Angeles airport.
Bollywood media hasn’t left either of them alone, pitting them against each other to find out who’s bigger and better. However, the actresses have maintained their dignity and have said that there is nothing like a catty competitive situation between them. Now, foreign media has acted like fuel to fire. Deepika tried to quietly step into her car but manage to break into a shy smile briefly.
Both Deepika and Priyanka made a starry appearance at the Oscars after-party.
This year, it was expected of both the actresses to be a part of the 89th Annual Academy Awards but, sadly, it was only Priyanka who made an official appearance. However, Deepika did make it to the after-party, as she did at the 74th Golden Globe Awards, which were held earlier in January.
Deepika Padukone is yet to give a statement on the humiliating ordeal. Hopefully, she gives it back to the foreign media for their idiocy.
