The motion poster Sridevi’s upcoming film Mom released a short while ago. Having a voice over by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the poster told how a mother’s love is unquestionable. It stressed on the different names mothers are given in different languages but their love remains unchanged. The motion poster is definitely striking and it will intrigue you to know more about this film.
Apart from Sridevi, Mom also features Akshaye Khanna and Abhimanyu Singh in important roles and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a special appearance. The gritty first poster had stirred a lot of reactions on social media.
However, Sridevis’ Mom was compared to Raveena Tandon’s Maatr. Both the films looked similar in the way that they were centred around a mother taking on the world.
When the latter was told was about these similarities, Raveena said this wasn’t the case. She told PTI that Sridevi was a senior in the industry and she respected her wholeheartedly. Raveena added that she was glad movies like Pink, Mom and Maatr, were being made in India. She stressed that films which have social messages need to be made again and again to wake people up.

The earlier schedules of Mom were shot in Delhi. After this, the crew flew to Mestia, Georgia and shot in freezing conditions of minus seven degrees for almost two months. This was definitely challenging for the film’s cast and they successfully wrapped up the schedule.
Mom‘s first poster was unveiled by Salman Khan at the 2017 edition of Zee Cine Awards. After the launch, Salman said that Sridevi was a bigger star that any of the Khans. Salman had reportedly said:
Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay (Kumar)… we have all done many films. Aamir may have done about 50 films — he has a lot of time, as he does only one film per year; Shah Rukh may have done more than 100 films… Put together, we may have all done about 250-275 films. But there is one legend who is very talented, dedicated, hard-working and professional. She completed 300 films, after starting her career as a child artiste. Our work cannot even be compared to this legend – she is none other than Sridevi!
Mom is slated to release on 14 July.
