“Don’t judge a book by its cover.” This metaphorical phrase also implies on judging people on the basis of their appearances. Ali Fazal and Lauren Gottlieb starrer TriyaCharitra dwells on the same principle. It revolves around a blind date couple who end up committing a crime which turns their life upside down.
The 14-minute long short film begins with Ajay Rawat (Fazal) who according to him is leading a boring life of a resident doctor. One fine day, he goes on a blind date with Neha (Lauren), who works with a leading bank. At a plush restaurant, both the protagonist meet and take no time in getting comfortable with each other. Neha is deceptive and manages to win over Ajay through her charm. Initially repulsive, the guy gives in to her advances.
And then she makes a bold offer. “Help me rob the bank and make love with me.” Isn’t it shocking? After showing reluctance, Ajay gets convinced with the offer given by Neha to him and hatch the plan to rob the cash from an ATM van.
Whether they manage to rob the ATM van or not, you need to watch the entire film for this. We all know that Fazal is a brilliant actor. The 30-year-old Furious 7 star has d0ne justice to his role, as compared to Gottlieb whose difficulties in speaking Hindi is revealed. However, she is able to pull off her part as the script required. The duo share a brilliant chemistry and has been involved in steamy scenes in the film.
Directed by Vinay Vats, this short film has generated a lot of buzz on social media. So far, the video has raked in close to 1 lakh views on YouTube and the number keeps on increasing.
