Seems like Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat has set the ball rolling. Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Aiyaary, based on the Indian army, which was set for release on February 9 is back in the dock awaiting the Censor Board clearance. While Padmaavat was specially screened for a certain section of Rajputs, the Defence Ministry reportedly wants to review Aiyaary. A tweet on Aiyaary’s official Twitter account announces that it’s just one week to go for the movie.

“Since Aiyaary is set against the army backdrop, the Defence Ministry wants to review the film,” Indian Express quoted a source as saying. The movie is supposed to be inspired from true events, where Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee both play army officers. The movie also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Kumud Mishra and Rakul Preet Singh.

The initial release date of the Neeraj Pandey movie was January 26 but it was deferred to February 9 to avoid clash with Padmaavat and Akshay Kumar’s PadMan. A few days ahead of the release, PadMan‘s release date was also shifted to February 9. Director Neeraj Pandey has earlier directed movies like Baby, A Wednesday, MS Dhoni: An Untold Story and Special 26 to name a few.
