An emotional Karan Johar talks about cancelling Baahubali 2 grand premiere in Mumbai following actor Vinod Khanna's demise

The team of Baahubali 2 has cancelled the grand premiere of the film planned in Mumbai on Thursday, following the demise of legendary actor Vinod Khanna. The team sent out a statement saying:

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved, the legendary Vinod Khanna. The demise has come as a huge shock to all of us. As a mark of respect for our dearly departed, the premiere event of Baahubali : The Conclusion is now cancelled. Love and remembrance, Karan Johar, SS Rajamouli and the entire team of Baahubali.”

The statement released is on behalf of filmmakers Karan Johar and SS Rajamouli. Talking about the same, an emotional Karan also said that he only felt this is the right thing to do. He said: “My father would have done that. I just felt so.”

Vinod Khanna passed away on 27 April at the age of 70. The veteran actor was reportedly suffering from Cancer. The actor was in the hospital undergoing treatment at the Sir HN, Reliance foundation hospital since 31 March.

“Veteran actor and MP Vinod Khanna breathed his last at 11.20 am due to advanced bladder carcinoma,” Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital released a statement.

Baahubali: The conclusion, featuring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati is releasing on Friday.
