After making their debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor will be seen sharing the screen together after 10 years in Sanjay Dutt biopic. Ever since its announcement, the biopic is in news for something or the other. And with news of Ranbir and Sonam playing the lead roles, it will be interesting to see whether this time they will be able to create the magic on the silver screen or not.
With biopics being the current favourite genre of Bollywood filmmakers, a movie on Sanjay Dutt’s life will be a great opportunity to know the actor up-close and personal. Rumours have it that Rajkumar Hirani got the idea of making Dutt’s biopic when they were shooting for PK and the actor narrated some of the unseen and unheard events from his life.
And it would not be wrong to say that Sanjay Dutt’s biopic will be incomplete without mentioning the two most important people in his life — Madhuri Dixit Nene being his love interest and close friend Salman Khan.
Though Ranbir and Sonam’s Saawariya failed miserably at the Box-Office, the movie gave us two of Bollywood’s rising stars. It will be for the first time that Ranbir will be doing a biopic, while Sonam already has Neerja Bhanot biopic in her kitty.

Ranbir Kapoor will start shooting for the biopic in early 2017, and will also be simultaneously shooting for Ayan Mukerji’s Dragon, starring Alia Bhatt. It was reported that Mukerji’s superhero flick was delayed due to changes in the script, while Hirani had earlier planned to start the film in June after Sanjay came out of jail in February, and had even asked Ranbir to prepare for the role. But reportedly both films are set to start in January 2017.
Apparently, Hirani has asked Ranbir to bulk up for the movie, so that he looks somewhere close to being Sanjay Dutt. For an intense actor like him, it will be pretty challenging to get into the character, as he is the only one who can make this biopic a treat to watch for all the Dutt fans. Whereas, Sonam has already proved her worth in Neerja biopic. But if not Sonam then who could have played the role better? Only Raju Hirani can answer that.

According to reports, Sonam Kapoor will be seen playing the role of an actress, which will be a fictional character and a mix of all the heroines to whom Sanjay Dutt was linked in 80s and 90s. Anushka Sharma is also a part of the movie and will be seen playing a journalist.
Now, does that mean we will get to see another love triangle? Well, with Sanju Baba being the most loved celebrity, his biopic will be nothing less than a masterpiece.
