Deepika Padukone’s Hollywood debut xXx: Return of Xander Cage was in news from the moments of its announcement. The film was highly applauded not only by the audience but also by the film fraternity. But it seems like nothing is really working for the film’s box office success.
Featuring VinDiesel, xXx witnessed around 30-40% occupancy in theaters domestically and was expected to go up in the coming days. But the numbers say a completely different story as the movie was in competition with OK Jaanu and Haraamkhor, which also got released in the same week.
The movie minted around Rs 20 crore in the first week and struggled really hard at the box office. Not only domestically, xXx also saw a major dip in the international market as well.
The movie failed to charm the audience overseas earned around Rs 2 crore in its first weekend at the American box office. Despite being made on a budget of $85 million, this film holds the second spot after M Night Shyamalan’s Split, whose making cost was just $5 million.
Box office tracker Exhibitor Relations took to Twitter and wrote:
Internationally, XXX3 fared much better, scoring $50.5M this weekend–#1 in 32 of 53 markets.

Well, only time will tell if this failure will halt Deepika’s Holywood journey or not.
