A brief history of 'Kiss' in Bollywood and how Befikre may change it all

Kiss in Bollywood has always been one of the hot topics of discussion. Over the years it has majorly changed. In 60s and 70s kiss was depicted through symbols. You might have seen two flowers playing with each other or a couple hiding behind the tree.

With the film Mera Naam Joker, Raj Kapoor introduced on-screen kissing. He came up with the lip-lock of that time. However, later Zeenat Aman and Sashi Kapoor in Satyam Shivam Sundaram brought the most erotic kiss.

In Dayavan, young Madhuri Dixit and Vinod Khanna has one of the longest smooching scenes. Post this came Mr Perfectionist. However, Aamir was not that perfect then, but he shared the passionate smooch in Raja Hindustani with Karisma Kapoor. Even new actors shed their inhibitions to experiment with kiss. From Amitabh Bachchan to Aishwariya Rai, even Shah Rukh Khan has broken his no-kiss policy for YRF film.

However kiss has not always been used as the scared symbol of love but once again someone is swimming against the tide. Yash Raj’s next film Befikre is trying to associate kiss as a symbol of love. Befikre tries to show kiss as natural and as affectionate as a hug.

As Ranveer said, “Love someone, be carefree and show it with a kiss!”
