David Guetta’s concert in Mumbai rescheduled for January 15, Delhi one reportedly cancelled

French DJ David Guetta, whose concerts in Mumbai and Bengaluru were cancelled by the authorities, will perform at Maharashtra’s capital on 15 January. The event that was scheduled for 13 January, Friday, at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse but the authorities denied permission. Now the rescheduled show will take place at Jio Gardens, Bandra Kurla Complex between 11 AM to 4 PM. The tickets meant for Friday’s show will be valid for the Sunday one.

David Guetta was scheduled to perform at NCR on 15 January but sources close to Delhi Police said that event may get cancelled. A tweet by news agency ANI revealed the organisers don’t have requisite clearances for the event that was supposed to happen at the Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium.

He is also scheduled to perform in Hyderabad at the Hitex Exhibition Centre on 14 January.

The 49-year-old DJ’s four-city India tour hit its first hurdle in Bengaluru, where his concert scheduled for Thursday was called off by the authorities citing law and order issues. It was alleged that after the molestation cases in Bengaluru on New Year’s eve, the authorities weren’t in favor of hosting the show. However, the police refuted these claims saying they were asked to provide security in a short notice.

In Mumbai, the show was cancelled over similar issues. The Mumbai Police in its statement has said that the concert was called off as the organisers failed to fulfill the mandatory requirements to organise the show.

Harindra Singh, Managing Director & Chairman, Percept Limited confirmed to a leading daily that the two time Grammy award winner DJ will perform in Mumbai on Sunday.

We regret the cancellation of the Sunburn Arena with David Guetta this evening. We are happy to add that we have succeeded to reschedule the event for Sunday, January 15, 2017 between 1100 hrs – 1600 hrs at the same venue i.e. Jio Gardens, BKC.
