Pakistani actor Fawad Khan returned home on Tuesday following threats by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Pakistan’s Geo News reported.
Earlier, Raj Thackeray’s MNS had issued a 48-hour deadline to Pakistani artistes to leave India in wake of terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri area. The party also warned it would not permit the release of any Bollywood films having Pakistani actors, including the upcoming “Ae Dil Hai Muskhil” and “Raees“.
MNS Vice-President Shalini Thackeray said that wherever shooting for films or teleserials with Pakistani actors was on after the deadline, MNS activists would go and stop them.
Karan had earlier said that the actor won’t be a part of his film’s promotions as he is expecting his second child and planning to be with his wife during the time.
In the past, the MNS and the Shiv Sena have adopted an aggressive stance against Pakistani personalities visiting Maharashtra.
Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali’s scheduled concerts were cancelled in Mumbai and Pune in October 2015 and a public engagement axed in January this year.
