Every year, the Grammys honour the best in the music industry across several genres. The nominees for Grammys 2017 are just as outstanding if not more than last year with Beyonce at the nominations’ lead at nine nominations. She has already bagged a Grammy for Best Music Video. The Chainsmokers have also been awarded a Grammy in the Best Dance Recording category for their song Don’t Let Me Down feat. Daya.
With talk-show host and comedian James Corden hosting the ceremony for the first time, the Grammys received a grand opening with Adele’s live performance of Hello. Sadly, Adele’s dream to nail her chart-busting track from the album 25 at a live performance continues to be a dream. The performance was followed by Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood’s life duet. Both artists set the stage on fire with their on-screen chemistry. Aside from exhibiting great talent at the stage, Carrie proved to be a treat for the eyes too.
Speaking of impressive looks, Katy Perry stunned us as all as she revealed her brand new blonde locks. Although, same couldn’t be said about her dress. What an eye sore! She opened with a performance of her latest song Chained To The Rhythm, co-written by Sia.
Two-time Grammy winning artist Ed Sheeran performed live at the ceremony after a year-long artist. Ed recently won hearts with the release of two new songs- Castle on the Hill and Shape of You.
However, the crowd had never screamed louder before when they laid their eyes on the one and only, Beyonce! As Queen Bey stepped out with her burgeoning belly, the Beyhive broke into a fit. Many even claimed that she looked like a goddess. Needless to say, nobody was pointing fingers at them.
It was all talks of Bae-once, until Adele came back on to pay her tribute to George Michael. To honour the late singer, who passed away in December last year, Adele picked his 1996 song Fastlove for a live performance. The song received a standing ovation from the crowd.
After the teary performances, Lady Gaga and Metallica brought the energy back to the crowd. To be honest, Lady Gaga should permanently join Metallica.
