Looking for incidents when Kangana Ranaut did not speak like a queen are hard to find. Being unabashed and unapologetic that she is, Kangana spoke about the ongoing row that erupted after singer Sonu Nigam expressed displeasure over azaan playing on loudspeakers. When Kangana was asked about her opinion on this matter, she said she loved the sounds of everything religious.
Speaking at the Aditya Birla Group’s ‘LIVA Creme’ launch, Kangana said she loved the sound of azaan. Narrating an incident during the shooting of Tanu Weds Manu in Lucknow, Kangana said that she loved the azaan when it played. She was quoted by Indianexpress.com as. “I can only speak for myself! Whatever religious activity, may it be at the gurdwara, or Bhagavad Gita, or aazan, I personally like it a lot! And, I personally like going to places of worship like masjid, temple or church! We go for a Christmas Mass too!”

Kangana added she was only speaking for herself and that Sonu Nigam could have a different opinion. She added, “Again, as I said, I can only speak for myself, but that’s not to say that what he’s (Sonu Nigam) saying should not be considered, whatever he said is his opinion and he should be respected for that; I think that’s the idea of bringing it to social media, isn’t it, so it should be discussed!”

Unlike most celebrities who do not like commenting on raging issues, Kangana doesn’t mind speaking her mind. And this statement is another proof of that.
For the uninitiated, Sonu Nigam’s tweets about his sleep getting disturbed from the sound of azaan. The singer asserted that he had issues with even temples and gurudwaras playing bhajans on loudspeakers and said it was an example of forced religiousness. His opinions on the issue made way for a nationwide debate and it looks like the controversy won’t die any time sooner.
