Not everyone is a celebrity from the get-go (unless you are Jaden friggin’ Smith). Some of the most famous Hollywood celebrities had to pick up some odd jobs to get where they are today. While some like Matt LeBlanc used to work as a carpenter, the most common job that celebs picked up back in their days was at a fast-food restaurant. It’s almost like a rite of passage for every actor to have worked served some Average Joe a venti latte or a Big Mac. Here are some of these Hollywood celebs who worked at fast-food restaurants before they got famous:
James Franco
Did you know that the 127 Hours actor was once just another boy working at McDonald’s? In an op-ed to McDonald’s he wrote for The Washington Post, he mentioned that he picked up a lot of accents there which helped him in his career.
Amy Adams
The Arrival actress worked as a Hooter’s waitress straight out of her high school. “It was a great way for me to earn money for college,” she said.
Madonna
The pop queen Madonna used to work at Dunkin Donuts in Times Square. She wasn’t a waitress and worked at the cash register instead. She was fired from her job after having squirted jelly on one of her customers.
Rachel McAdams
The Canadian actress worked at a local McDonald’s back when she wasn’t famous. She worked there for three years before moving on.
Shania Twain
Popular singer Shania Twain worked at a McDonald’s in Ontario before she got famous.
Jennifer Hudson
Before she made it American Idol, the actress/singer used to work at Burger King. While doing the Carpool Karaoke segment with James Corden, she visited the drive-thru where she worked.
Jenna Fischer
“Me at one of my first jobs running the cash register at Long John Silver’s,” the actress wrote while sharing a throwback photo on her Instagram. “My parents taught me that if I wanted something I had to work for it and earn my own money,” she added.
Eva Longoria
The actress had no money when she was 15 but, she wanted to celebrate her Quinceañera (15th birthday) so she got a job at Wendy’s to pay for the celebrations herself.
Nick Cannon
Nick Cannon took up a job at Wienerschnitzel when he was just 17 to help his mother financially. However, he was fired for telling jokes through the intercom at the fast-food chain’s drive-thru.
